THE COUNSELING PROCESS
There are both risks and benefits to counseling. While positive growth and resolution of personal issues may occur, no promises can be made about specific outcomes. You, the client, are largely responsible for accomplishing your outcome goals. Furthermore, counseling might open up new levels of awareness that could cause pain and anxiety. You have the right to refuse to participate in therapeutic interventions.

Counselors are mandated to report specific information only when there is possibility of harm to a client or another person, in cases of abuse of a child, elder or disabled person, or under court order.
